I think that’s a myth. (a) the timing is wrong (b) The people who worked on the IIgs seem to think WDC couldn’t deliver enough of the faster 65816 parts to meet Apple’s volume, and that’s why they never shipped a faster IIgs.

Your questions don't make sense. LLVM is a framework for building compilers and tools. C is a language specification.

Your questions are not well founded. You're both asking for people to compare two things that aren't comparable _and_ you're admonishing people not to explain why they're not comparable.

Twitter has been slow since Musk took over and fired all of the competent devops people and then shut down most of the data centers. It's reasonable to assume that he's either been lied to or is lying about the cause of this.

It doesn't, though; this is a myth propagated by journalists, who are Twitter addicts and are the only reason it survived Musk's initial incompetence.

Asahi seems like a counterexample to your last point: you need incredibly deep knowledge of several technologies to do what they're doing.

One takeaway should be: avoid credit card debt unless you’re really in dire straits. But also: while remote employment is the future, whether employers like it or not, it’ll continue to be bumpy as long as all the C-suite fuckheads idolize

I think you’re missing the point, which is that it’s the fault of the executives who created and incentivized that culture. Attack from another angle: if it’s the scale of their success that causes the issues, why doesn’t Apple have these p
