I agree with this. It made me think about the Adam Sandler movie where he finds out his lover suffers from a condition where she can't retain new memories, and at the end of the movie the conflict is solved by them going to live on a b

Do you still need to scroll down to the comments to find whether the function you're looking at is safe to use or a ticking time bomb? Also, in my opinion, the fact that there's a comment section, and they're considered "

Do they? At work we tend to encourage async communication, and one of the first things I heard when I started is that I might get emails / messages outside of working hours but there was no expectation that I'd read them, or reply

Out of curiosity, how does a "no politics" rule work in a scenario like this? Unfortunately we're currently in a scenario where a queer person saying they had a great time with their husband/wife/partner over the we

+1 to this. I find that a 15 minute stand up at the very least lets me see my coworkers, and I get so much out of just saying hi and hearing it back.

A private and intimate moment could just be you hugging your son. It doesn't have to be porn. And while you may argue your coworkers seeing you hug your son isn't a big deal, the point is that it needs to be up to the user to deci

I am one of those people. Last March one person went down on my profile and replied to multiple tweets calling me a groomer and a pedophile, with those exact words, and was not banned after I reported them. I'm not going to acknowledge

There are way too many assumptions in your post. Yes, you're right that I like GraphQL, but: 1) Nowhere in my comments did I say that's limited to negative comments. I think "GraphQL is good" is just as useful (meaning n

Maybe I failed to express myself properly, but my point is that saying “X is bad.” (emphasis on the period) is not really saying anything. It’s much more productive if you explain why, how and in what environment X is bad, either before or

There’s this stereotype of a programmer, that while I think can be funny sometimes, still reflects a professional that doesn’t really exist anymore from my perspective. Most software engineers I’ve worked with have been incredibly humble an

The point is that “bad” isn’t a useful descriptor of anything regarding their real-life applications, because it simply doesn’t mean anything. Without more context, saying something is bad is just saying you dislike it with intent to presen

Twitter, the platform where trans people are routinely called pedophiles and groomers by prominent figures and nobodies alike, has a censorship problem? I can't imagine the kind of vitriol you have to spew to get banned off Twitter tha

If you divide it by 20 before multiplying by 365, which is a charitable read to say the least, it would still be an insane amount of money.

Creating separate bathrooms for different "categories" of people isn't something history has a kind view on, and I think less segregation as opposed to more is a good direction for us to go.

Pulsemixer is the one I love. It's a TUI alternative to Pavucontrol. https://github.com/GeorgeFilipkin/pulsemixer Honorable mention is Ncmpcpp, which is a TUI frontend for MPD.
