Right, the stick went on the base C6. A tradeoff for sure. I thought the Activa Xantias all had the 3.0? What I don’t understand is how the “real” sports car companies are happy to let the Xantia sit at the top of the moose test ranking for

OP here. I found your article after once again being dragged down the C6 rabbit hole. There was a comment on my earlier post re Jacques Pepin’s love of French cars, and off I went. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=323686

In "real reality" there is no forever, but in simulated reality they could turn up the clock speed and really let things last a very long time indeed. Another thing simulated reality offers is afterlife, in any number of forms. If

Bought a Xantia a few years back mainly to try out the hydropneumatics. Not only did it tame the noticeable bumps, it smoothed regular roads mile after mile. I remember often thinking “Did they resurface that road since last time?”, and fee

Kuhl has so many styles and I have so little patience. Which one is loose fitting, light/medium weight, mostly cotton and looks like regular/cargo trousers, not joggers or pyjamas?

97% cotton FTW. All my favorite tactical trousers have gone over to high tech fabrics that are much more durable and nominally lighter weight, but don’t breathe like cotton and I hate them. For £40 two years is good enough for me. I’ll try

2 phones for me. The only answer has been cargo trousers, specifically ones where the side pocket has an inner “ammo” pocket which stops the phones clunking together. Haven’t worn jeans in 20 years.

Seriously, BMW? How about you use the money you spent on that to offset offering a few more cars with a manual transmission?

How about if you sear a large cut of beef to kill the surface bacteria, then immediately slice off (with a sterilized knife) and grind (with a sterilized grinder) enough for tartare or a rare burger? I'd eat that! Do any restaurants do

I thought the issue with rare/cooked-through burgers is that grinding distributes surface bacteria throughout the mass and it all needs to get hot enough, whereas on primal and sub-primal cuts you're safely cooking the bacteria th

I just spent a pleasant hour fixing a friend's Lenovo hinge. Disassemble, cyanoacrylate adhesive, reduce hinge tension, wait/beer, reassemble. Unimaginably poor design detail and QA on the tension setting. Many of this and other Y
