I honestly don't think the metered approach will work for them. Most people will hit that point, and instead of paying will search for, and find, they have other alternatives. In the end, NY Times will just lose most of those regulars as th

The weight savings comes from the material it's made of. From their website: "Cargoshell is manufactured from composites and therefore much lighter than a steel container." http://www.cargoshell.com/EN/concept.php

This is one that still irritates me, and heard it misused (by non-windows dev) just this past weekend at a conference. Sequel is a product, S-Q-L is the language. Of course, this has been going on for awhile. http://discuss.fogcreek.com/j

When I was reading this I was wondering how is this any different than a TV station showing up with a film crew? They're recording audio the same as the guy with his cell phone. In the end, it's all about intimidation by the Boston Police.

I think everyone would agree that getting a truly clean PC would be nice. The problem with Best Buy's approach is the pre-optimizing of the PC first, and having only that version available. IMO, it's counter to the way they built their repu

Great article, and it really lowers my opinion of Best Buy. I couldn't help but think of the auto rustproofing sales pitch when buying a new car. Another benefit to the article, I think the bottom section listing programs to "optimize" the

Not really. I have several parked there. If it isn't an obvious mistyped domain, or had a previous live site, you will not get any traffic, and as such, no money. I have several domains parked, but only one (a closed site) generates any inc

Though SEO generally does not get a lot of respect here on HN, the article does contain some good observations about where search is heading.

You need to understand that things change in deals. On Friday you could have reported GM was closing down Saab and it would have been accurate, but on Sunday it was GM had received more inquiries on Saab and a deal may still be made. Just b
