Someone like OpenSea would be hosting the sales, no? In fact the creator of the contract could remain anonymous. It’s also not clear at all which law in which jurisdiction this would be a violation of. It’s akin to a web link, which aren’t

There are lots of similarities with the early discourse around torrenting sites and links I think. A common argument back then, was that torrenting sites were just like Google, they only contained links to files and had thus were not violat

Rust will catch problems that would be UB in C and would continue executing in an invalid state. Crashing is preferable in such scenarios because you avoid potential security issues stemming from the UB and the developers can find out about

I'm not Norwegian(Swedish) and as far as I understand the article makes no mention of antigen tests. The article is talking about *antibodies* being found in blood tests from December 2019. I think the title should be changed, if someo

It’s not particularly insane. package.json and package-lock.json have different purposes, namely package.json specified intent e.g. I want a version that satisfies >=5.2.3 && < 6.0.0 and package-lock.json records the exact res

That's not true. The first line of NPM install's documentation[0] says(emphasis mine): > This command installs a package, and any packages that it depends on. If the package has a *package-lock or shrinkwrap file, the installat

Absolutely, but this speaks to the paradox I think. Cross platform is an attractive choice, precisely when you don't have a such a person. For example, as a solo developer with no native knowledge who wants to ship an app or a small st

I think this blog post is quite promising. It seems like both the specific issue at hand and the larger structural problem of who the core team is accountable to are being addressed. All in all, the handling of this issue on all sides inspi

I view it more like the lesser of two evils. I don't like Apple's behaviour and I agree with a lot of the criticisms against their behaviour. That said, I think it's preferable to the alternative.

I don't disagree that is their publicly stated reason for the limitation. Them having the ulterior motive of stifling PWAs on iOS and competition for mobile Safari is a common theory. Whether they do have ulterior motives or not, the e

I've been meaning to write almost exactly this blog post for a while now, glad that someone else did it. Two things that I think are worth calling out: 1. In many ways Apple's anti-competitive behaviour on iOS/iPadOS is a ble

There's a similar thing with Kitty, which has a pretty bad looking icon that has sentimental value for the maintainer. The maintainer has expressed that they have no interest in changing the icon. I simply made my own[0] and replaced i
