I wrote a Twitter thread[0] on this topic in response to Alex Russell's recent blog post on how Safari on iOS limits the web[1]. My point is: yes it's problematic that Apple prevents any browser diversity on iOS(by not allowing ot

On Writing Well[0] is one of the best books I've read. I'd recommended it to anyone who wants to improve their writing. 0: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53343.On_Writing_Well

I don't see why my health in particular matters when there are olympian athletes who are entirely vegan and additionally many who are vegetarians. You seem to be implying that a plant based diet would not support a an active and health

I think that if this was done slowly with a tax that increases year by year(like the Australian tabaco tax) and with some of the money being invested in lab grown meat reasearch we'd get to the lab grown meat future much faster. I supp

Another excellent use of the tax money from this could be subsidising non-meat foods which makes more food cheaper. Anecdotally my own experience switching to a diet with less meat is that food costs have gone down.

Probably one of my own more controversial opinions is an extreme tax on red meat, not unlike the Australian tax on tobaco. This seems entirely possible in particular because tobaco is fraught with the issues around addiction which isn'

I don't know how well that would work. For example, my understanding of Rust's bounding checking for slice indexing is that often the compiler can prove it's not needed and the check is optimised out because of the type syste

I think it's really interesting to compare the web to apps in this regard. In fact I wrote a blog post about this as a response to "The Great Divide"[0] a few years ago. The core thesis of mine is that on the app side of thin

Fair, it seems like noindex is the better way. It doesn't really matter what the exact technical details are, the point is that Google respects your wish to not be indexed if you express it. The law as written is extremely draconic bec

If you stop collecting IDFA and don't replace it with some other device identifier you are fine. If you create a new identifier i.e. some sort of fingerprinting you still needs user consent for that via the AppTransparency framework.

That’s against Apple’s guidelines, violations of which will get your app kicked off the only distribution channel on iOS. We’ll have to see how this shakes out in reality, but as a deterrent it’s pretty strong.

I'm sure the designers who work on GDS[0] and its design system do. You are probably right that most don't, they should in my opinion. Of course you are also right that good teams will work together on this. I think the best desig
