I agree and you are correct. The thing is that I guess that this wouldn't work - Windows users are used to having control of everything so if MS started mounting system files read only (which they should) people would develop and other

Off topic and this will come across as preachy - after all who is a random stranger to say how to live your life. But please think about quitting. Things will suck worse for a while but after some time life will get better.

This looks like a great funding model for bootstrapping businesses with an actual viable product and some paying customers. Not so good for the capture the market with a free product and work out how to make it make money later type busines

Has the snoopers charter gone through yet? Once ISPs are forced to store usage logs it is only a matter of time before TV licensing start attempting to get hold of logs for enforcement purposes.

I'm fairly sure that even if you own a box that can receive TV you don't need to pay the license if you don't actually use it to watch TV. Having said that, given the recent changes in the laws I would recommend getting a TV

Not that widely know but matplotlib plots can be animated at a pinch. - the experience of doing so is not what I'd regard as fun though... They can also be embedded fairly easily in e.g. pyQT apps.

It depends upon who you trust. Police/government release figures and press releases. However, one of the problems with the official statements is that terrorism trials in the UK can be (and are) held in closed courts in which evidence

You miss the point. By config she means whether to display html mail as html, whether to display images from external sources, her language (for spell checking), her preferred set of fonts etc
