Ya, we love Firebase! Use Firebase functions heavily and i've been very pleased. That tied with redux works so smoothly. It's a different way of thinking about things but I find it so much easier to maintain and reason about than

It's the mental addiction. The physical health is not really something you deal with every day - usually doesn't get super serious until you get older. But when you are addicted to smoking (cigs or ecigs), it changes you. It inter

Everyone in here is caught up in the physical harm of smoking. Celebrating moving from cigarettes to eCigs. I'll admit that's important. But for me, most of the harm cigarettes have (and also eCigs) is not how bad is it on your ph

Sure, I suppose it couldn't replace every payment like this from needing to go through a lawyer. I suppose if you wanted to send 10 billion over seas to someone in 20 years, you might want to seek some legal input. But say for the si

Totally fair point. I don't intend to mean that blockchain works right now for storing all of this efficiently, but I know people are working on solutions to this. Steemit uses https://ipfs.io/ which I am not super f

I don't think it's too hard to find potential problems it can solve, but it's not necessarily needed to solve it. 1. Imagine you use FB. Instead of FB having all of your data, it's stored on the blockchain (encrypted). T

I made an app that used Tinders private API and got a letter from their lawyer. I didn't fight it, but I did a bit of research and it seems like I wouldn't have won haha

I wish Instagram had an API for their photos. You used to be able to query photos by coordinates and what not. I started building a weather app that would only show you the feels like temperature and wanted to show some photos of what it lo

Gonna try it out! Looks fun :) I'm curious, you use react-native-navigation. Did you ever try react-navigation? That's what we are currently using. Don't have any strong complaints, but know it does everything in JS. Was wond

We use Firebase (and Firebase Functions :fire:) for most of our stuff. Then have a few things running on App Engine. What are you building? I'm a big fan of firebase if it makes sense for what you are building!

FWIW this is not the right way to think about quiting smoking. It might work for some people, although i'd bet only temporarily unless the root problem somehow goes away. This solution still has people believe they want to smoke and th
