Ah, yes. I forgot I had enabled Firefox Focus as content blocker, for some reason. It must have a rule for Twitter images or something. Thanks!

1,44 MB was the capacity of the High Density 3 1/4” disks that were introduced for the IBM PC in 1987. The target system for Sierra’s first adventures (The Wizard and the Pricess, King’s Quest et al) was the Apple II, whose floppies co

You could say that. The Sierra games were a bit revolutionary in using vector graphics for the backgrounds. It meant they could fit dozens of full-color game screens on a single Apple II floppy disk, which was no small feat. Of course, sinc

From a brief glance at it, this tool seems to make high resolution renders of the vector based art in the game files. There is no “upscaling” because the art was drawn as points, lines, fills, etc to begin with. The reason it looks pixelate

What are you saying, that the Danish are selling the technology on to the Chinese? As if the Chinese government didn’t already have massively deployed facial recognition tech?

We used to have one like that, too, and I don’t remember it being capable of single-gram accuracy like my cheap IKEA scales are.

I won’t dispute your numbers, but have you measured latency and jitter? Some people who like to call themselves hard-core gamers care a lot about those metrics, and Wi-Fi has historically been pretty abysmal at latency. I don’t know if the

I don’t know if this is obvious to you or not, but this does not sound like a problem for merchants in most parts of the world. US sales tax is insane and not representative of most jurisdictions, globally speaking. I’m not saying you could

Now you’re just stringing random words together. What is the “Kissinger trap”? The topic was the freedom of an American corporation to not finance warfare. There is no moral or legal imperative for them to permit their users to finance a fo

Exactly. My point is that they are materially different. A person may disagree with Patreon’s policy, but you have to agree that it is not in fact hypocritical (or “schizophrenic”) to allow funding to one but not the other.

There is a difference to funding a gun blog or shooting-focused YouTube channel, versus training army personnel and buying guns for them.

Where do you live that 700€ a DAY is low pay? It’s, that’s MORE than 700$ a day, not less. Consider that most parts of the world have lower cost of living than the Bay Area.

I think you have too high hopes for the possibility to get non tech-geek users to try the Fediverse. If Heavy Metal Community A on Facebook disappears overnight, I think the users will simply join Heavy Metal Community B (on Facebook).
