Engineering manager here. A significant fraction of the people we've been interviewing has asked for hybrid. All 15 engineers in our office prefer it, as well as the 60-odd sales, marketing etc. Working purely remote can be effective f

While I get your point, zkSNARKS preceded blockchain by two decades.

You're so right about the cereal as that has indeed happened! But then my outlook on life in general is "savor what you can, because tomorrow it could be gone". So while it's a pain when do stop making it, I do take time

This is me and my mum. To the point where if I find something I really like which might not last more than a few years, I buy two. This occurs in many domains from breakfast cereals to shirts to bicycle tyres!

That I guess is a big thing I can't fully understand at a deep level, not growing up in USA. Seems like hanging on to something that made sense 240 years ago. Times change. I mean, slavery was legal then... Hopefully people don't

What are guns bringing to the table that makes them so precious? At the very least they don't seem to be capable of feeding people nor preventing attempted insurrections nor preventing innocent people being killed by the authorities. I

VCs are unfortunately, on the whole, all too discerning when it comes to Web3. It's a meme now in the community that when a VC and tokens are involved, there's a good chance they are getting preferential treatment and using the en

My friend took a year, over 150 calls and legal intervention to get money back that HSBC stole. Obviously not the same but to say that banks are faultless just isn't true; their systems also have edge cases from which there is often li

Gatekeeping what defines art.... Not a great look even if I understand where you're coming from. But check out Cyber Brokers which is super detailed and entirely on-chain.

Incorrect. Cyber Brokers, Chain Runners and umpteen others going back years are 100% on-chain. But the majority are either on a centralized cloud provider at worst and IPFS at best, yes.

As an engineering manager this is a difficult one. A developer who's excellent at leetcode really shines; it's a strong positive signal that correlates more often than not with someone who writes clean, easy-to-read and fast code.

This is 100% true but even worse I think; a lot of people talk about blockchain being censorship-resistant... But what if Intel/AMD/Apple/NVIDIA are forced to have hardware blocks for specific wallet addresses for instance?

I wish more people said this: P2P is discussed far less than it should be, in my opinion. Blockchains have their uses - some of which I think offer real value - but from both a utility and ideological standpoint, if many people in "web

How is this "someone else's database"? It's literally a 100% public permissionless ledger. If I store an NFT in Facebook's database is that not "someone else's database" by definition.
