Hosting videos on the web is already "decentralized". You could start your own privacy preserving hosting service tomorrow if you want to. That still leaves the problem of how people can discover you service, yes, but how does c

You’re both saying the exact same thing. LA residents do not care about public transit service because they do not use it. People making under 25k a year do not have the power to compel the city to change anything.

Yes when public transit is underfunded so much that only the homeless want to take it, you’re likely to be surrounded by lots of homeless on public transit. It’s a vicious cycle and the only ones who profit are the car companies.

The agility is a bit irrelevant here- that place still sounds like a good place for automated testing.

Third spaces are anywhere where people can hang out that doesn’t cost money, or doesn’t cost a lot of money. I would say that churches apply actually. And it’s not just the service itself, you have a lot of people hanging out after service

There is one difference here - email reset would lock the legitimate user out of the account, whereas email magic links would not. I think that's an advantage for the former.

It sounds like you agree with me. Ethnic conflicts are a natural consequence of immigration, and they die out over time. They used to be more pronounced in the past, and American history is littered with it. You don’t even seem to think cas

By what metric are you asserting it doesn’t increase safety? My experience has been the opposite. Roads which have traffic calming measures introduced are significantly more pleasant to bike on. The more streets this is on the better - it s

People moving to a city, and having more disposable income to put into the economy, is not a bad thing. Increased vehicle traffic is a bad thing. You want to induce demand for other types of transportation. There is a finite amount of peopl

The money saved from reduced vehicles in the city can and should go into expanded commuter service, I absolutely agree. There is a cultural element to this as well - many suburbanites feel that transit is beneath them.

There are detached homes a 10 minute walk from the CN tower. Toronto is emphatically not a dense city. I recently visited Brooklyn and was amazed.

Nonsense. People don’t want people driving into their cities and making noise/ taking up a bunch of space with their cars. We have zero problems with people taking transit in. Suburban residents want to treat the city as both a low den

Dealing with foreign beliefs and prejudices is part and parcel of having an immigration system. The US, having been built on immigration, has been dealing with these kind of “motherland” conflicts for its entire history. Sometimes these Ame

The difference between Steph Curry and some nba basketball player in the 99.9% percentile actually does matter a lot. And keep in mind hat Curry’s salary is actually lower than his value to a team because of salary cap structures.
