Control D for DNS blocking and Ublock origin on all browsers. It would be nice to setup something locally, but I'm lazy (spend my time on other things) and just want it to work.

This happened to me with a major bank. They were using the same number for 2FA and some other types of texts. I got locked out of my account for a while because I had unsubscribed from their marketing texts. What an unbelievably dumb way to

Being truly open is a huge plus for OCM. Checking a few locations in both I found that PlugShare had locations properly listed as under maintenance while OCM listed them as open, so at least near me the Plugshare data seems more accurate. I

Both sides can be wrong and lying. Does it matter if water is "tap water" or if it meets the regulations for tap water? Lying to call someone out for lying just undermines the point. Edit: Sigh, on re-reading the SpaceX statement

When I was in Kenya last year (around Nairobi & the coast), I was shocked with how cheap the Ubers were. I was wondering how they could even pay for gas with the rates being so low. This answers that question and it's not at all su

This unfortunately happens to gas cars too. I have an ICE Hyundai and got a recall telling me to park it outside because it can spontaneously combust. How fun!

I've started using YouTrack recently since it's free for small teams or single devs, and most importantly to me their knowledgebase is Markdown based and can be exported as Markdown if needed. Too many past lives spent moving KB c

Hence the "mostly" portion of my post. You do not answer single questions and then pause your brain until some taps you to asks another. During your waking hours you are processing data non-stop (you even are during sleep really).

To me a more important part of sentience is a continuous existence. Today's AI is still very discrete. It exists and then it does not, repeated. Even large window sizes are still just discrete calculations before the model goes back to

One of the largest time components can be due to soil compaction. This period can look like no work is being done, but is a vital step. That's not to say that sometimes no work is being done because of scheduling, equipment, funds, or

I'm kind of thinking now, why bother with generating a weak ETag at all? Unless your backend is doing things that would commonly cause differences in JSON formatting for the same data, this is probably a rare case and not worth the ext

How is the sample `calculateETag()` function generating a weak ETag? It looks like it will generate a different hash due to any JSON formatting changes. It seems like generating a weak ETag would take more effort since you'd need to ei

Oh dear, I haven't used any FedEx APIs in a while. but when I did it was XML based (maybe SOAP) and the ordering of some of the fields mattered!! This was of course not documented anywhere. Ahh, here's a great example of the mess

This is great context. Unfortunately I don't think the test taker had the neglect here. The instructions for this test do not mention the captions, and they clearly don't fit on the screen and are hidden by default on their phone!

Their "personal" pricing is $20 per year. It looks like they've moved that to a separate pricing page and are gearing the other for business use.

I've used ControlD [ https://controld.com/ ] for this and liked it. Does anyone know how NextDNS compares to it? ControlD has worked well for me, outside a few UI complaints I have with their site. I do have some concern

This looks like an easy thing for Walmart to prevent if they bothered. On Amazon if you add a new shipping address, you can't ship to it until you re-verify your credit card CVV. With just that simple check this attack would be blocked

Not that you should trust that your info is any safer than with Mint, but has anyone tried Personal Capital? I've seen it recommended in the past, but they seem to have rebranded and their site doesn't list much detail about it.
