While I would highly highly recommend against it there is GWT, & Vaadin. They transpile java code to JavaScript, HTML, and css. They are tightly coupled to their RPC apis.

You could make an arguement of gmail centralizing control in email, but I don't think thats what you are doing. Mastodon is part of a federated network. Most people who use Mastodon belong to a large server rather than hosting your own

I wouldn't disagree, but email is decentralized. My gmail account can speak to your yahoo account. Jack was a pretty big proponent of the Protocol, not Platforms mythos put forth by Mike Masnick.

Avacado seems relatively cheap considering Tempur-Pedic mattresses range from 2000 to 4000 dollars. Honestly the whole mattress industry is a little strange, though.

So I use this as well, but it utterly fails the elderly grandmother test. Its not well known. Its not easily accessibly for non-technical users. & its not clear which profile you are currently using when you are using it.

Modular phones are especially hard. There is both an power optimization & physical size constraints. Neither of which square with modular replacements.
