It's not that Macmillan's content is king. It's that Macmillan controls a significant /quantity/ of content, and Amazon is no longer the only outlet in town. As a thought exercise, try to imagine an individual publisher attempting this. Per

I wonder if this applicable to city planning? Constructing a plexiglass landscape in miniature, scattering a few flakes in the right places, then letting loose the mold... let nature calculate maximum efficiency for you!

Oh, sure, blame the guy that made you the billions in the first place for not knowing that you were fucking around with the underpinning factors. Real mature, Wall Street. Real mature.

Or it could incite a discussion on the relative merits of Apple's industrial design approach, how accurate Stross's assessment is, and what should or shouldn't carry over to the industry at-large. I realize OS wankery is pretty much standar

It is actually fairly plausible that Stoppelmann has no idea at all that his sales representatives are using such shady tactics. That is not, however, good news for Stoppelmann. Not in any sense. It would indicate that, at the client-busin

...how many blogs does this man read? Blogging =/= tech blogging - the simplest search would bring up hundreds if not thousands, of blogs about people's life stories. Including, yes, that of techies.

A fair point. Heard recently that the "Iranian Cyber Army" attacked Baidu as well. Nothing major - they weren't able to do much more than hassle Twitter, and they didn't do much to Baidu either.

There is no such thing as "too old for music." Rather, picking up something new helps keep your brain nimble. You have no reason at all NOT to do it - and, hey, you even have a free tutor!

Exactly what can Moot offer, in terms of discourse? Moot's fame was very much a matter of happenstance and ungodly luck - the whims of the internet, rather than anything innately genius about his approach or handling. It'd be like asking a
