^ I think this is it. App developers are taught to reflexively use the local db to store data, not files - but may not understand the difference performance characteristics of this db. Someone (like me before reading this post) working on a

I certainly have - I just replaced my Nexus 6 with a Moto G4, which somehow seems faster with the exact same set of apps and prefs. As an aside, having a phone that costs $150 is sort of amazing. It's removes the fetishism of "oh

It's so common here in NYC that there's a scam where people go door to door, trick you into believing you're signing up for 100% wind power, and then jack up prices after a few months.

That's funny, I thought I would hate Parisians, but they were incredibly kind and warm. You just have to talk to them the way you speak to New Yorkers: to the point, and about the city or food. New Yorkers have the same reputation for

I also see this in my friends that do dumb stuff for their income. Most of them are flat out stupid and the rest are only able to think about the next few days. TV isn't a good representation of most of it - it rarely shows how little

I don't know how much it is Python shooting itself in the foot, I wonder if it's not a management issue. Though he may be stubborn, I can't see the 2 v 3 split happening under Rob Pike - I think this is fundamentally a Guido

Not all places have trains, and not all buses are unpleasant. My rides in Hartford were all great. A lot of the anti-bus thing in America has some pretty ugly roots, but I'm not going to argue about it on HN.

This is why I take the bus or train, even in towns where most people drive(when possible). I used to commute from Downtown Hartford to the Airport. 20 minute drive, 40 minute bus ride. I showed up happy and refreshed and having had time to

Fake news is bad, but the issue is overstated. I believe that the real issue is preference falsification on both sides, which is well discussed in this HN thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12920496

Is it less than you pay {Civic monthly lease + (Civic Monthly Gas Cost - Bolt Electricity Cost)}?? Honest question! It seems like a critical mark for GM to hit with such an odd looking vehicle.
