I am running iOS26 on my iPhone 13 Pro, and on my m1 iPad Pro. It runs fine on both, but I really regret upgrading on my iPad because the new window management options are terrible. It makes me actively dislike using my iPad now, and it use

The Sagrada Familia is pretty well known, but I just want to put a plug here for some other buildings by Gaudi you can go see: https://www.barcelona-life.com/barcelona/gaudi That said, if on limited time, definitely se

ahh, that sounds like a poor UI indeed given the screen real-estate.

I used to game on Linux back in the late 2000s through Wine. And I always found the mouse support to be jarring, even if I could get support to a decent level, for some reason the mouse input was never quite as fluid as it should have been.

Huh, I'm having a hard time interpreting what that looks like. Have a link to a photo you can share anywhere? The "1 and a bit" part is confusing.

Disagree - the services make money _from_ the users. It's a symbiotic relationship, and I totally understand the frustration. Especially when decisions are opaque and you're left guessing about what 'the platform' is doi

I was quite excited for it, despite not enjoying Eternal as much. But after about ~2 hours of playing it, I lost interest. I'm happy you're enjoying it, sadly it didn't click for me. Especially the 'mech scale' stuf

This is exactly how I want my FPS games to be. Just linear, run & gun. TBH, I can even do without weapon upgrades or any "RPG" style elements. It's even worse in multiplayer games like COD and BF. As soon as I need to fi

Sure, and to add more anecdata, my observations are different from yours. It's easy / tempting to extrapolate from our limited bubble / point of view, but it doesn't tell you anything about a population at large.

I’m guessing HN hug of death. Probably smarter than just auto scaling to handle any surge traffic and then get swamped by crawlers & higher bills.

Literally unplayable, someone should fix that. Doom is actually such a good game, I always go back to it every few years. The 2016 reboot is also pretty fun, but the later two in the series didn’t do it for me.

Regardless of the bias inherent in Grok, it wasn't a good experience to me. I tried it for some time before going back to ChatGPT (this was before GPT-5 though, I'm also not super happy with GPT-5 UX)

True, but if you already have them at home and you’re raised in a family that uses them, presumably the barrier to using one is lower.

Oh yes, I didn’t mean to say it should be ignored. Just more expressing that sadly I’m not surprised by this action with the current government.

I think this is not too surprising? Both the result and the action of hiding it? From my understanding, right-wing usually means more pro-gun. If you already have guns, the threshold for terrorist actions is likely lower.

I know the world of technology is a different place now. But I _loved_ the fact that I had a computer in my room as a teenager in the early 2000s. It definitely contributed to me ending up in the career path where I am now, I enjoyed '

I'm so insanely disappointed that they removed 'slide over' in iOS 26 for iPad. It makes it so much harder to properly 'multitask' with 2 apps side-by-side on the 11" version. I've been using it for the pa
