Jordan Peterson mostly did this for me, and I feel precisely the same way about his viewpoints. You have to have a critical mind to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Generally, I would trust the defaults of FreeBSD more than the defaults of Ubuntu, but FreeBSD may require more setup of any utilities you might be using. But, I don’t actually know for sure. I plan on using FreeBSD bastions.

Azure is our cloud provider. Interface is flexible, since our current implementation leverages Prisma ORM connected to Postgres & SQL Server. We're going to have to rebuild it anyway.

We're on Azure, otherwise those were my goto choices too.

So, as someone who was in the midst of planning a migration of a multi-billion $ revenue platform to using CosmosDB... Alternatives? LOL Basically just looking for geo-redundant, high read & write throughput. Our intention was to levera

This is precisely what I love about the Internet and humanity. Recently, I got into RC cars. I was watching a YouTube video discussing the long-term issues that can arise with the particular model I own. In the video, the presenter mentions

I agree with this wholeheartedly, but I also think some of the burden should be placed on Europe’s leaders for not preparing more thoroughly for this scenario. Trade is a great tool to mitigate and avoid conflicts like these, but the power

Garry, massive congratulations. Been watching your career growth for years, and been inspired by your every step. Being able to have you as one of my group partners was a blessed period in my own career that I'm glad to have had. Hacke

I'm actively working in this space right now. Working with a Fortune 100 to replatform their entire supply chain software. Currently handles all $15B of their US revenue.

I'll say this, as a YC founder, given the current situation, I've never been more excited. I'm currently working with a Fortune 100 client in a recession-proof space. We have a team that's knocking it out of the park wit

Can you share some here? I’m about to get my 3 year old into Scratch, since it’s already on his RPi. I remember doing the exact same thing in grade school with Gorillas and QBASIC. I actually want to download it now and play it again.

I am very bad at doing this to others IRL and online. But my team has been fully remote for the last few years, so I’ve made a conscious effort to stop myself from doing this, acknowledging and apologizing when I do, and specifically callin

I think that's heard in Paris every summer. If you work in Paris in a tourist area, English is pretty much a prerequisite, even if the Parisians don't like it.

I actually do think it’s relevant. They build credibility in your mind space via innocuous stories about peppers, so you’re more likely to accept their articles about more charged topics in the future.

I don’t know if BTC fully fixes this, but I agree that crypto in general is heading down the path that will likely fix this. And agreed, HN continues to hate crypto due to 99% of it being garbage, and ignoring the 1% that is actually revolu

Life is a cancer on this planet. Life is extractive of the natural resources. Name a single life form that leaves the planet “better” than if it had not been there? Is your preference that Earth be devoid of life? Looks like Mars or Venus?

You’re welcome. Lots of negative comments and downvoting on my comment, so I’m glad at least one person understood what I was trying to say. We are just coming out of a pandemic that is not actually over and has wreaked havoc on our health

I know. We need to do better to help everyone with this problem. But I prefer to face these difficulties with an optimistic mindset, rather than resign myself to being powerless against the grim reality.
