Ironically, that series is one of the cultural artifacts of the late-90s that fueled the growth of e-commerce. I remember ordering a copy of the first Harry Potter book from Amazon just for the novelty of shopping online.

LinkedIn was always a recruiting/contacts database disguised as a social platform. So while their UI was never great, the new UI is particularly horrendous (and surprisingly, its performance seems pretty poor too.)

OP: you may want to post this to /r/musictheory on Reddit. I have a feeling it will be appreciated by the music geeks there. That said, it is fantastic.

Some good suggestions in the thread, but I hope you are an avid reader of the genre you wish to work in? Good writers have to be keen, discerning readers.

J.D. Salinger, Harper Lee, Margaret Mitchell, John Kennedy Toole - these are just some of the great novelists who found massive success at their debut and simply couldn't repeat it.

I work in that very field, so I hope this input will be useful to you: There's no one thing called "SAP" anymore. It's many platforms, ranging from the old ERP (with its ABAP programming language) to CRM to HR to E-comme

Community moderation is no joke, but the gold standard for sustaining an incredibly civil, intelligent community is probably Metafilter. Then again, their size is tiny fraction of Twitter's or Reddit's.

The author conflates procrastination, idleness and perfectionism, as if they were interchangeable. I would argue that they are not, even if they appear to be similar, at the surface. While perfectionism CAN sometimes lead to procrastination

Spot on analysis. WMT is really doing a talent acquisition here. Jet.com differentiated itself from AMZN through concepts like "happier work culture", which, given WMT's reputation, is rich in irony.
