Remember that weev taught us that violating a EULA is now a felony (per the 'it's a violation of the EULA therefore isn't permitted access' theory). Doesn't matter what the justification is. First they decide who to

But it's also unfair to fraudulently receive money from someone. If you accidentally gain because someone gives you money (say they sent it to the wrong bank account) it isn't fair to keep it.

I think this is a good example of what happens when you wade into a nest of vipers. 'Fraud' can have different meanings, and sometimes what is used in common language is not the correct legal term. So is it misleading to call it f

So I think you're right in the literal sense, but rainer is accurate in the sentiment. The media used the word 'interference' in an exaggerated and nefarious context, and they didn't seem very interested in clearing it u

And who determines what is true? Do I get to censor Obama when he claimed 'if you like your healthcare, you can keep it' (rated 'lie of the year' by politifact btw)? When you start down this path, you will quickly find y

I am curious what these laws are, and what constitutes involvement. Am I allowed to comment on American elections even if I am not American? A lot of people here are talking about interference, which sounds like a very nefarious thing. But

I am familiar with this scandal (but not a finance expert or anything). The problem with loopholes is that it's up to interpretation. Is it intentional? Is it legal? These are hard problems to determine. America famously offered a tax

I hate to call it abuse, but I do wonder how one avoids rewarding bad behaviour. There are a lot of poor people who work very hard to provide for their family. I don't know what should we do for them.

Do you think it would be better if they did understand it? You can be a Java dev for years (forever really) without understanding how the JVM works. I don't see why the web has to be any different.

I have thought in a similar vein about capitalism and markets. Why, if everyone is clamoring for fair contracts, are not businesses offering them? Partly it's because consumers cannot tell a good from a bad contract. And partly I think

This was the rage among event tickets about 10 years ago. Of course the simple fix is to just sell items at the market price. For tickets, the reason was that they were often sold at under-market price, as the comedian/musician/wh

Look, I absolutely agree. I am actually admitting my privilege. Even if it's the right thing to do, a lot of people are going to be opposed to it if it hurts them (even marginally). I think NPR sort of overlooks this, and focuses too m

Decriminalization is a sham. It's still a crime, and I don't just mean federally. Either it's okay to use cocaine or it isn't. If it's actually victimless then no harm was done and it should be legal.
