2.4ghz is pretty bad but the 5 and 6ghz bands don’t really travel far. I’m in a dense area and 5ghz works great while 6 has basically no detectable traffic.

You can still make use of more. Local video streaming from your PC to tv, file transfers between nearby devices etc. Modern wifi is fast enough that using cables is often not required.

You can do it on iOS officially. Android never had an official backup process, it was always through root apps. Backups could just be a casualty of killing rooted Android.

You aren't wrong, but ultimately to survive as a business like this that relies on search rankings, you have to play the game. Google rewards spamming the web with bullshit, and the businesses which do it capture all the sales.

Thankfully my preference for not destroying the environment and abusing buyers is shared by the majority in my country which is why stricter consumer laws are catching up to these tech companies.

Apple gets all the heat for consumer rights issue, and rightfully they do need to do better, but every time I look, they are one of the best companies for repair and consumer rights. The rest of the industry is straight up atrocious. Apple

Age verification isn’t moral rot even if you disagree with it. The rot is the obvious corruption and legal system that only applies to average people which billionaires constantly violate.

My coworkers do not review the slop code they put up. Review is the easiest thing to shortcut since reviewing and finding nothing looks the same as not reviewing at all.

From my understanding, apps need location permissions if they want to scan for available bluetooth devices rather than having the user pair in the bluetooth settings app. The reason being that advertisers set up bluetooth beacons all over t

They contain a feels good filter to make you think something is happening. But to actually filter the pollution you'd need a activated carbon filter for the n02 and a hepa filter for the smoke. Which none of them contain and would clog

NO2 is a very hazardous air pollutant which doesn’t get a ton of attention. The main sources are combustion engines and gas stoves. Asthma looks to be mostly caused by gas stoves. I’ve got a sensor that can detect no2 and it noticeably spik

You usually don’t _need_ it but there are a couple things you can’t do without it. Pairing a mouse/kb to their usb receiver for example is not possible without it.

If it matters is subjective. But personally I stop reading when I notice it’s AI text because there is never anything in it worth reading. It’s just a prompt expanded in to paragraphs of filler text. This kind of tool doesn’t need a whole A

I don't think Apple cares about apps replacing the follow button with an icon. It's a weird use of the api, but it's not abusing the user or a security/privacy risk.

I don't think people asking for github alternatives are expecting unlimited actions for $5/month. It would be acceptable if they charged credits on top or let you host the runner on your own machine.

All of the git hosting providers offer repo hosting for literally free. $10/month is easily enough to host a repo.

It becomes worth it with scale. A VPS costs more than $5 but you can host a very large number of repos, a dormant repo takes no resources but disk space to host, its only activity that consumes resources, which is less than $5-$10 worth
