64gb unified memory is incredibly powerful for a local machine. Most of us have 16GB which is almost useless compared to the API models.

All of the use cases I see seem like stuff that’s better performed by normal software. Dependabot will watch for new versions and submit a PR for free. AI for developing software that runs predictably seems more useful than AI performing ac

I think people just hate subscriptions so much they are willing to make an obviously worse financial choice to buy upfront. I’d be willing to pay more to own vs subscribe, but the gap is currently far too large where buying a Mac Studio for

That's so long ago I honestly can't see that being true. It used to be a funny home video hosting platform in those days. The quality of content you can get on youtube these days is incredible.

Ah this makes more sense. I was wondering how on earth they were making this stuff because a lot of it looked like injection moulded plastic that would be just too hard to make at home. Do you know what this stuff is called specifically? I

That’s what the auditing needs to cover. Every search should be tied to a case number and the police putting in fake numbers to stalk people need to be dealt with.

As much as I think the tech needs to be regulated to prevent abuse, if I was a driver in San Francisco I’d try to only ever park my car directly in view of a flock camera.

You can do all of that, and then Elon Musk will use his hundreds of billions to install another pedofile in charge who won't give a shit about the environment.

For a more modern example, China already has this and a lot more. The public seems largely supportive of it though because most street crimes stopped. The potential for abuse is obviously massive, but the benefit to society is too.

We don’t _need_ many things. But there are real problems that it solves and solves better than anything else. I feel like the best solution is very tightly regulating and auditing this technology so it can only be used to benefit society.

It’s also just hard to make breaking changes on Linux. Apple can declare something is changing and you have 1 year to get with the program. In Linux you have to bargain and plead with devs over 10 years to change something. Restricting an a
