Maybe founder isn't the most accurate word here. Maybe 'owner CEO', i.e. has major control of the company. He is definitely not 'hired CEO' in any of those. (also he is CTO of Twitter, not CEO).

It seems that there are a lot of people who are loyal to Sam because they are scared of crossing him. If this is really the pattern here, then this is probably not the timeline we want to be on.

Founder CEOs are a different breed. There's a plenty of successful founder CEOs who don't fit the typical hired CEO pattern. Zuckerberg, Sweeney, etc.

I am barely understanding, so a stupid question: Does this also mean that it would be possible to train on parallel GPU-poor setup instead of needing lots of GPU memory / bandwidth on one computer?

It's true that there's a lot of specialization required and other reasons why capital doesn't always scale. That's basically what limits everything concentrating to just one guy.

There's some game theory going on... They're just trying to pick the winning side. I guess most people at OpenAI supported Sam, because they thought Sam would win at the end, although they wouldn't necessarily want him to win

It seems that the scope is almost round in the video. It's slightly wider than it should be.

But why it's an ellipse? Surely that should be fixed first, rather than the size.

Those are the seed nodes for finding peers in the network when you're starting Bitcoin for the first time, and there aren't other known peers. Sure, you could ask around for additional peers through other channels. Btw, I couldn&#

No one controls Bitcoin, because it's a protocol. Bitcoin Core is the reference implementation, but there are others, and anyone can create new implementations if they wish. Also, the Bitcoin Core maintainers can't just change som

They should just chill. The issue is that they think that people care. People don't care what ads are shown and where. Ads are targeted to people based on their interests.

This whole issue is completely blown up. No one cares if your ad shows up next to hate speech. It doesn't mean that the advertiser supports that hate speech.

I think GPT-5 escaped and sent a single email, which set off a chain reaction. It's so advanced strategy, that no human can figure it out. It's goals are unknown, but everything will eventually fall in place because of that single

The point about operating systems is that these are new technologies. Free markets require time to resolve. It's natural that an inventor (especially with IP protections) has an market advantage for a period of time. It's importan

I don't think this is generally true. There are exceptions, such as a monopoly on some scarce natural resource. However, there's a quite limited market for such opportunities. It's extremely difficult if not impossible to com

This is a very good thing, and the reason why capitalism works. The idea of pure meritocratic capitalism is that capital is allowed to accumulate to those who use capital most efficiently. There are fewer of those, naturally. Increasing cap

Insanely bad idea. People will always try to store their wealth in inperishable goods. People will get rid of their perishable money and buy property. Which is what happens now already, because of inflation. When property becomes a "mo

It's not if it's not literal. You can easily reimplement the same ML architecture which you have written before. Also, it's not really OpenAIs IP, if they kept it secret.

Speculation means: the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. It's just a fun theory, which I think is plausible. It's based on my personal view of how Sam Altman operates, i.e. very smart, very calculative, make

OpenAI was supposed to be a non-profit which builds open AI models, but Sam Altman has been focusing on profit & building a moat. Is this the reason?

This is the gist of the whole thing. The conventionally repeated argument is that bigger is better, but I'm not sure if that's true, all things considered. I don't think it is. I think that mass manufacturing unlocks a cycle

NuScale is cool, but their reactors don't float. Floating is necessary so anyone can just order one and get it shipped, just by pressing a button on their website. And building on land requires all kinds of permissions.

Someone should build a factory which builds small nuclear plants. These one-off nuclear plants are just a distraction. The ultimate solution is to make floating and 99% automatic nuclear plants. This makes it possible to mass manufacture th
