It does seem like it's adding up that way. Heck, it may be the best move for him financially. He has roughly 10% of Uber shares , and if his resignation make the route to an IPO easier and removes some downward pressure on the result

It's not actually going on land they own, but near it. The argument is that it's an environmental risk to their land, not that in infringes their property rights.

It's varied over time. Sometimes I've talked to them on the phone as they shopped and it was indeed the same person that delivered to my door. Then for a while it wasn't, then it was again. From conversations with the shopper

If it's a universal basic income, it should just be automated as well. By the point automation has advance enough to require UBI, it's advanced enough to handle its administration. Pull the human governance aspects out of it.

Not just Uber, if this story stays high profile it could affect Uber's IPO and thus bring major cultural changes to many, many other startups in reaction. Which would likely be a good thing.
