My understanding is that it's both a more general platform (targeting more than 2FA) and also uses an FPGA running open-source code, so that the "secure enclave" functionality can be inspected and found to be secure, rather t

If it is happening, it would be horrible, but it would also be news to me. As far as I can tell as a reasonably-informed citizen, the government is mandating that the truckers have to be fully vaccinated in order to cross the Canada-US bo

RF/radio is one solid application. Can't really do the signal processing fast enough on an SBC.

By using hardware attestation? Same mechanism used by secure boot and DRM could be used for anticheat.

My gripe is that it doesn't work offline, so you can't expect to sync emails once and read them later.

The B-2 uses airbrakes at the wingtips. Actuate the right airbrake to yaw right, etc. You can also use differential throttle of two engines to achieve the same thing.

I have a pair of XM4s, I could never get two devices (Ubuntu laptop and Android phone) to work right without getting atrocious sound quality ("headset/handsfree profile") on one.

I believe it's configurable in firmware, as my ThinkPad e14 gen 2 has a BIOS option to set the sleep state behaviour. The options are labelled "Windows" and "Linux".

Orion is a spy satellite for radio frequencies ("sigint satellite"). While it is massive, it's not an optical spy satellite and certainly does not have <10cm resolution.

Having attended grade school in BC, Canada, we used to do exactly that. Someone would come on the PA system to rattle some rocks in a jar and all students would duck under the desks until the 'earthquake' subsided, then count to 6

Note that my previous comment did not state anything to do with long term safety, only that there is a false equivalency being drawn. I agree that there is no long term (decades) study that I can point to about the safety of mRNA vaccines.

I just want to point out that the difference between the mRNA vaccines and the other medications with long term side effects is that the mRNA vaccine is only active in your body for a few days. You don't get repeated injections on a ti

Newer laptops are starting to come with soldered SSDs. Macbooks have had non-standard or soldered SSDs for the past 5+ years. Framework is also proactively making documentation, schematics, etc etc available for repair shops.

Wright brothers were certainly not dirt poor, but they weren't barons either. They were only able to build their planes because of their experience building other mechanical things.

Blue Origin is funded by Bezos with much more resources/year than SpaceX, yet has achieved far less over a longer time since founding. "Sluggish" is the adverb I would use to describe its engineering progress.
