The website has been refreshed. The feature highlights section on the front page gives many examples of the features with code samples. Even as someone who follows zig closely (from a distance), I was glad to read that front page again to d

How does sourcehut (sr.ht)'s build service compare to the alternatives mentioned here?

Is there a rust implementation of mastodon? The dependencies for the current implementations are too brittle IMHO.

If it is stability you are after, choosing Java on JVM will get you there much better. Java written 20 ago still compiles and works fine today.

any one else reading this comment should know -- I did look through the PRs and many of them are typo fixes. Its easy to make demands on open source code maintainers time. Not all PRs and "tickets" need attention. The maintainer d

You are using Python2.7 in 2019. there is your problem. I understand if you inherited/maintaining a legacy application, you may not have had a choice about 2.7, but if it's a significantly large project and you are not making any

The major attraction of commenting systems like this is their compatibility with static websites, but on the downside, they require JS to post to a third party site. Someone could build a commenting system purely based on a CGI model, but

Just the fact that you are conflating persian and "arabic" words makes me chuckle. They are quite different, even if they are close geographically. Ask a an actual Iranian/Perisan if they would like to mistaken for a Saudi&#x

You can just call them Indian numbers. "Arabic" didn't contribute anything to the number system except using them. Calling them as "Arabic" numbers is as dated as words like "Orientals", "Indians"

See https://github.com/jaredly/qmoji/releases/tag/1.0 for an apples to apples comparison between the same app implemented in Reasonml vs Electron. * Reasonml App - 3.4 MB * Electron App - 121 MB

I don't know why people get so bent about Makefiles. Its a way to preserve muscle memory using a universally (well most *nix systems, anyway) available software. It allows you to have package your often used shell commands into one wel

Fsharp is a much better language for scripting than swift will ever be. F# with the pipe operator used judiciously makes reading it a joy.

If I were doing this today, I would prototype the problem in Python and after realising the startup penalty, would rewrite it in D's Mir [1] or Nim's ArrayMancer [2]. Life on a lambda is too short to pay 6-8 second startup penalty
