I came here just to write exactly the same thing. I'd add that in this case, I personally don't find the product beautiful at all. It's not ugly, I don't find it visually offensive, but it's fairly generic and uses too many cliches for me t

The main character does this to great effect in Punch Drunk Love, which also happens to be a beautiful film that I highly recommend. He purchases pudding to earn frequent flier miles.

It might be tedious because you don't live in Germany. For me, the potential for major products used by millions of people to be banned seems quite important. To make it more relevant, imagine that a major consumer product might be totally

I agree. My partner is about to start A/B testing for his small business, and a robust discussion of these issues would be quite helpful!

I was hoping something like this would come about! My job is at a small non-profit, and there's always an endless pile of work to do. It becomes really difficult to get everything done, and so some projects that would be really helpful to u

The best episode yet, in my opinion! Simple, well-reasoned analysis, generally better than the comment threads in my opinion, which seems like the test. I think the idea of Amazon purchasing dropbox is quite interesting. Didn't occur to me,

Who said they want to add those things? The website hasn't been changed in a long time, and it does resemble designs more common several years ago. I think there are lots of ways an update could worsen craig's list, but there are also a lot

I don't understand. Why would improving the UX necessitate the quality of content going down?

I'm very curious what these principles are optimizing for. If they successfully produce the certain kind of life pg desires, how is that life qualified? It seems like this method optimizes for happiness, as well as some kind of self determi

Seriously! This must be the worst website I've encountered in a long time. Despite the inspiring content in the article, I leave with a mixed experience. Just goes to show how much design matters.

I'm concerned about how the IKEA brand will work for electronics. Either this will elevate the brand, and do wonders for our impressions of their furniture, or people will worry that this TV will be a cheap, temporary solution that needs to

I think the kickstarter page could be improved. More details about the money and why you need it, what our donation will accomplish aside from the vague message about how more people get things done faster. How much are you paying yourself?

It's a very interesting move. I guess the calculation (apart from real benevolence, which I don't mean to undercut) would be that the good will and good press, affection from idealistic engineers and the resulting hiring and retention advan

Another idea: marketplace for independent musicians? Seems like with a little tweaking it could be a great way to find studio musicians, wedding bands or even teachers. AirBnB for musician rentals?

That all makes sense. It may not work in this case, but in general I like businesses where the customer is clear. I tend to think there's always a tension when the user, the musicians, aren't also the customer, guitar companies for example.

Perhaps there should be an 18+ section that can be blocked by parents with a password? If you have an out-of-the-box iPhone you can get any manner of porn within Safari. Why shouldn't you be able to get real porn with a better experience vi

Reading this just reminds me how awful the state of copyright is. We need a new way for producers of images (and any other digital art for that matter) to make money.
