It lets you sign up and provide a more detailed recommendation for an individual or team that you think should apply to YC. When you provide a recommendation, we reach out and encourage them to apply. You can also track the status of all yo

You can apply for any kinds of visa you want while taking advantage of the parole according to the linked article. You would need to leave the US to change status though.

All you get for your money is parole though -- not a visa. You couldn't work for other companies or stay indefinitely without getting another type of visa.

Given the amounts we're talking about, it's likely the founders would still have complete control of the board.

You need to raise the money from investors with a track record of investing in high growth startups, so won't be quite as easy as writing yourself a $250k check.

Reading through it. The gist is you can get 30 months of parole from USCIS if you are a startup entrepreneur that has raised investment. Seems like the threshold is $250k and it can support up to 3 founders. You must own at least 10% to be

Yes this really is phenomenal news for Scotland. Here's hoping they were generous with stock and we see a new wave of angel investors emerge. According to https://angel.co/skyscanner-2 they last raised almost 200m at a

That's true for the Westminster elections but Scotland has a proportional representation system for its devolved parliament.

"Canadian" bacon is often reformed as well in my experience. British and American are natural cuts. Here's a good depiction of the 3 varieties: http://www.endlesssimmer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010&#x

I've been using react-router 0.13.4 for almost a year in a project and it works perfectly. I found no reason to upgrade and am now glad I didn't bother.

Yes I've traveled quite extensively and nothing has ever come close to SF. I don't for a moment pretend to understand all the issues that contribute to this. I'm simply making an anecdotal observation based on my own experien

Have you been outside of the US? Coming from Europe, SF is utterly shocking. I've never seen anywhere else like it. Government provides a lot of support for low-income and homeless people in EU.

It was instinctive. We figured that if investors had schedules that required them to wait around half a day between meetings, they would be 1) irritated and 2) less likely to show up. I think we made the right call.

I don't think so. 1) There are way more investors than startups and we anticipate a busy day for everyone based on past data. 2) Not the demand for a company. 3) No.

The way the algorithm is written actually balances out the preferences of both groups. Investors and founders will each get to meet with their counterparts based on a ranking they supply.
