I have heard so many people describing the same exact feelings as you, especially the "overwhelming positive and calm emotions" part. It's so fascinating!

Why would a big story like that involving the presidential candidate and his son be boring and irrelevant?

I would care about the political views of the person who wrote the app that runs on my smart TV if my TV started blocking certain content because they think it's wrong think and that I should be protected from it.

This has been the modus operandi of MSM and social media for the past few years for all sorts of topics. It's sad to see people still speak in favor of such censorship.

Reddit is ripe with astroturfing, bots, heavy moderation, and a politically/ideologically curated front page. There are some niche subreddits that can be great though.

Extremely concerning. Why is World Economic Forum, a non-governmental organization so influential and involved in so many controversial initiatives?

Great point. In my circles I have far too often seen people criticizing other governments of propaganda, while also accepting the narratives we live in without question.

I think everyone should also take a moment and question what we are seeing on our screens. How much of our social media apps are tightly controlled and used as a tool by our governments?

I wonder how much of Reddit is just controlled accounts and bots talking to each other. Most of Reddit now just feels like curated political content.

What solution are you using now? I am using Standard Notes right now but I wish there were more alternatives.

Thanks. I have used this before for a 1-1 and it was decent. Not sure how it scales when there are 20 participants; something Zoom was good with. Any experience?

Out of all the apps I have used for meetings, I've had the best experience with Zoom. But the privacy aspect always concerns me. What's the best alternative today?

I would recommend the book Apocalypse Never by Michael Shellenberger. It's an interesting read where the author talks about how environmental alarmism hurts us and makes us focus on the wrong things and the importance of nuclear.

Related to OPs point, Proposition 47 in California reclassified certain thefts under $950 to a misdemeanor instead of a felony. There is evidence that this has resulted in increases in such crimes.
