No, of course not. But others seem to be. And in my opinion by the time they decided to do layoffs it would’ve been too late to cancel the concert and get their money back, so you might as well enjoy the concert.

I’m convinced I got into FAANG last year because of overhiring. Even if I get layed off, a year of FAANG on my resume is a blessing

You think they chose an Indian CEO to appeal to the Indian market? I can’t imagine they’d make such a huge decision over a factor like that.

I work at Microsoft and I have many peers upset about this. By the time they realized they needed layoffs it was probably too late to get their money back on the concert anyways.

Quite a bit IMO. My Mac Mini is silent, even my gaming PC with expensive BeQuiet fans doesn’t stay silent. My Mac Mini also outputs no noticeable heat (although in the winter I kinda wish it did)

Serious question, what difference does ECC make on a laptop? I thought it’s only useful on a server or for situations that are critical (aircraft computer).

They’re not much more expensive than a Windows laptop of similar specs and quality . AppleCare is fairly cheap if you’re concerned about damage.

That’s a good point. Whenever I’ve felt existential dread it’s been soothing to know I can improve myself and live life in a better way. However if you’re already in what you consider to be an ideal state, you don’t have any wiggle room. An

This makes me wonder if any books have been written about Toyota’s engineering practices / just in time production / production and logistics in general. I’m sure it would be fascinating.

It’s funny, I also found this inspiring and thoughtful but for almost the exact opposite reason. I never feel overwhelmed (not that I’d like to), and feel like I’m letting life pass by while I do meaningless crap. I don’t want to work for t

Tbh I don’t think you understood the goal of this post. The idea, to me, is to remind the reader of how precious life is, and to be mindful of how you’re spending it. Whether you think about it or try to ignore it, time is ticking by at the

Even the title, to me, indicates that the article is going to be lousy. Rather than saying “reasons why I don’t like Python”, they present the title as if Python is objectively bad, which obviously isn’t true.

Totally agree with this principle although that’s not what drives me to use my phone. I have a very generous amount of free time for my age, and I squander it for some reason.

For me I can’t even say I’m using it to escape negative thoughts, it’s just a compulsion. I pull my phone out and scroll when I pee. Yep, apparently I can’t even have 1 minute of downtime without my hand automatically reaching for my pocket
