My problem with this is vendor lock-in. What if I want to seamlessly move from an iPad to an Android phone to a Windows PC? But that's my problem, not Apple's.

It depends on what you consider optimizing. It's one thing to do evil floating point bit level hacking and such to save a nanosecond or two, and another to write a FizzBuzz in a way that doesn't require 700 external libraries to b

I used Inkscape recently, and found it quite a nightmare to use, even if its UI reminded me of Corel Draw quite a bit. That's what I get for spending like a decade primarily using Photoshop, I suppose.

And there's my problem with how people kill GIF. It's never easy. I right click on a Twitter 'GIF', I can't save it. I go to developer tools, they did a bunch of JavaScript fuckery just so I couldn't save it. O

With kana there's really no better way to do it than just writing it. Like a certain Japanese guide puts it, "write it 100 times and drink some beer".

I seriously doubt the UE license will allow this. The source code may be available but it's not "free software".

I understand why people reacted the way they did. Honestly, when iPhone first came out it was pretty much a toy. No apps? Even dumbphones could run J2ME stuff! It's only when iPhones got the App Store that things got serious. But anyon

You are comparing a 7 year old version of Windows to a recent Linux release. Obviously Windows 7 will not have all the drivers.

If the hypothetical Linux/OSX Edge lives up to Windows' one's battery life promises, it would be great as an actual primary browser.

It's not so much of a problem with LXSS on the horizon, but I really wanted to have both Adobe software and a Unix terminal. Although now I'm just spoiled by small behaviors of OS X that I really like.
