Because JS apps never have package management issues, right? If you don't understand your tools, it will eventually bite you. Has nothing to do with TS.

I guess I shouldn't have used the word "class" as you're not the only person to come back with that. I mean that it's generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA. I think you know that comparing heroin to nicotin

Nicotine is in the same drug class as caffiene. Want to ban coffee as well?

He was on News Radio with Phil Hartman in the mid 90's and hosted fear factor. He's been around for some time now, definitely longer than most of his audience can recall.

I started smoking cigarettes at 9 and was able to consistently get my hands on them by 14. It's never been hard.

Yes: row traversal (no hopping around in memory and causing cache flushes) and block size reads/writes are a big deal. Luckily they're easy enough to do right every time once you know. I used to take some flak from the "prema

Yes, profile. Anecdotally, I once removed a number of virtual function calls as they were imposing significant overhead in a tight loop (image processing). Would that be the case today? No idea; I'd have to measure it again.

Neither NPR nor the BBC are "state run". NPR is funded by the state as well as private donations (don't know as much about the BBC), but it's an important distinction, especially in this context.
