It sounds like you've been working in soulless corporate sweatshops, which would be just as miserable regardless of which platform they adopt. Policy is the only thing preventing you from using log4net for logging and NHibernate for ORM (a

ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET WebForms are both built on the same ASP.NET platform. You can even use some of the simple WebForms controls, like the Repeater and Menu, in ASP.NET MVC views.

Completely clean... Except for DateTime types. Since it uses JavaScriptSerializer under the hood, Json() serializes DateTime values as \/Date(ticks)\/. That, of course, is more the fault of JavaScript lacking a Date literal than Microsoft

I've been very happy with ASP.NET MVC 3's support for the new Razor view engine. I took the leap early and built a couple production apps on that platform. All has been well, thus far. Exposing your models as RESTful endpoints that return J

The last few studies I've seen on moderate alcohol use have concluded that its short-term effects on the brain aren't necessarily cumulative over the long term, as opposed to conventional wisdom.

Writing code is easy. How many developers can't type at least as fast as they think already? Writing something that makes sense later is the hard part; especially if you aren't the one reading it. Ultra-terse code is rarely helpful in tha

PR and public sentiment have become meaningless in these things. People may moan about right and wrong, but they don't alter their behavior. Just look at how little impact the outrage at child-groping has ultimately had on the TSA. Compani

SEO is non-deterministic enough that I hesitate to even speculate, but the clean markup on sites like eFreedom is probably a lot of their advantage. Stack Overflow buries its content in quite a bit of presentational markup. Everything els

The thing about Panopticlick is that the two most "accurately" identifying methods aren't stable fingerprints. As soon as you install an update to one of your plugins (the constant Adobe updates come to mind), your fingerprint is altered. S

CSS3 transitions are virtually indistinguishable from native animations and transitions, when applicable (i.e. CSS3 obviously can't be used for some things, but is a 1:1 replacement for things like page transitions).
