I get why that would be the issue for IE <9, but the latest preview version of 9 has canvas support. Hardware accelerated, even.

I doubt that anyone working at Sony or Nintendo shares this apathy toward Microsoft's continued ability to enter and disrupt an industry.

The Entertainment and Games division started turning a profit in 2008. They may still be in the red overall (I don't know for sure), but they're turning a steady profit now.

The design looks great; not spammy at all. At a glance, I was confused by the table near the bottom. The large heading says "What does the PAGG stack consist of?" and the following paragraph is in a low contrast/small font, so I jumped alm

That's interesting. That puts hard currency at about one half of November's $1.8tn M1 estimate. I've always assumed that currency represented a much larger portion of the M1.

He should have received right at $250,000,000 in dividends on his Disney stock since selling Pixar. He's certainly not hurting for cash, frugal or not.

I agree that blind use without understanding is not the best case, but I still believe these boilerplates are helpful. Especially if the choice is between someone copy-pasting an HTML5 boilerplate or sticking with their IDE's HTML4/XHTML1

I agree that it shouldn't make any different, logically, but then your control group still isn't truly a control group. Your results could be doubted on the basis of things like the participants knowing too much about the experiment and tr

If we repeated the experiment here, publicly, we'd all know whether we were in the control or experiment group just about immediately. The results wouldn't be valid, would they?

I'm curious how the young ladies at the bottom of the page figure into helping illiterate people access Facebook. It's tough to send a much stronger spamminess signal.

As long as the CDN is configured to transmit its files with a far-future expires header (which Google and Microsoft's CDNs are), the CDN owner can't accurately track usage at all. In a perfect world, the CDN would only handle one HTTP reque

Avoid using the "latest version" reference. In order to ensure that it's serving the latest version, it serves the script with an extremely short expires header.

The volatility of our medium hasn't decreased at all yet. If anything, it has increased in recent years. There's no way to know what point in the medium's maturation we're presently at; we may be much earlier on the timeline than us ear

His Disney stock is from the Pixar sale, not active investment. Smart of him to keep it all this time (probably an easy choice given the dividends it pays), but he ultimately has it due to the innovation at Pixar, not investment acumen.

You shouldn't conflate .NET and IE usage. I can only think of a few .NET web developers who use IE by choice. More likely, corporate developers of every flavor are more often locked into IE by company policy. It would be interesting to se
