Critical thinking is important, even in the trades. But trades are results-driven. The critical thought, business-mindedness, etc have all developed without the 4 year degree precondition for all successful trades.

This, along with so many other replies here, really brings home the point that some people just aren't ready yet straight outta high school. We really need to quit pushing them; they're not ready. They'll most likely fail and

The frustration-free packaging seems like the way to go. I don't care what box my stuff comes in. It's a shame it takes a behemoth like Amazon to get manufacturers to do this, instead of doing it on their own.

There's a warning on the box that says contents may settle during shipment. As far as having a box too large; well that's just settling for the box maker's specs. (Almost) No one makes their own boxes. I noticed Amazon starti

I understand your experience, but there's plenty of cliff-like terrain that the lake(s) (Table Rock and Lake of the Ozarks) have. In a lot of parts of the lake, there's not a shore to beach on. The speed of these things in the wa

Exactly. You must ask yourself what you want from this . If it's a secure-ish job, good pay, and relatively low-stress it's pretty easy to find. If it's The Social Network style code-bro'ing, coding the cure to cancer

I just wanted to let you know you're no stranger to these thoughts. You're going through exactly what I went through with the completion of a music degree. So, with that logic; perhaps you should try your hand at teaching music.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing; just what we've developed our vast infrastructure around. My commute is 30 miles one way. Luckily, I go against all the traffic, so it's a rather relaxing commute. It's on

Cruise control has been doing this since forever as well. As someone who heavily uses cruise control, and lives in an area with curves, it makes for unjoyed driving with patrons with adaptive cruise control, or non-cruisers.
