I'm a happy customer of https://exploratory.io/ - it's a very user-friendly interface on top of R and I think you might find it helpful.

Hi, congrats on the funding! I've been really interested in trying retool since my head of ops pointed me to it a few months back. I think it should meet my use-case but I'm not entirely sure. I run an experimentation program and

Are mixed use buildings a problem? I thought the normal problem in America was that zoning tends to prohibit mixing uselage types. Here [0] is a random street i picked in Paris with mixed use buildings - looks pretty nice tbh-lots of accomm

How is this really that different from city centre multi use buildings where there are stores on the ground floor and living space on the upper floors? Especially if some of those are served by gig-economy delivery couriers. Those stores ge

You can effectively get inbox back now. The guy at Google who made it set up on his own and made (very good, paid) browser plugins to restore functionality. https://simpl.fyi/

I effectively do this manually in Thunderbird. I have a saved search folder I treat as my "actual inbox" and I only add email addresses I want to receive mail from to the filter rule list.

If the goal here is becoming productive quickly, try https://exploratory.io/ which is a sort of WYSIWYG environment for R that will still let you code by hand if needed. No affiliation, just a happy customer for 2 years.

It's telling that you don't tend to see this in Europe, where leave is more generous and people actually take it. (Typically around 6 weeks, including public holidays).

There's a common extension to this about teaching colleges - 'Those who can, do; those who can't, teach; those who can't teach, teach teachers.'

Give https://exploratory.io/ a look. It's free/cheap. It's a nice easy GUI wrapper for R and just works. I stumbled across it a year ago and now use it daily.

"drywall/plasterboard", "skin of bricks"... I wish! Here I am with 12" thick stone walls and wifi can barely make it from the next room. I'm so glad the previous owner ran a little bit of ethernet cable!

Same in the UK - I've never seen eggs in the fridge at the supermarket.

I think you're hinting at the UK, but even if it were true that imports of cheese has fallen to nothing (it hasn't), there are a lot of local cheeses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_cheeses

I've been using https://exploratory.io/ a lot, which is r in a really nice wrapper where you can do everything point and click, by writing code by hand or a mix.

Logseq or Obsidian. Can self host & sync, bidirectional links, note transclusion (incredibly powerful), built on markdown files, nice interactive graph views and in the case of obsidian there is a good plugin community.

I was shocked when I went to the US that motels don't tend to have kitchens. In Australia and NZ, motels have at least a small kitchen area, if not a whole kitchen-diner room, and are like a small apartment really.
