Not GP, but it seems like a great idea to me. Using different proxies you can have a different IP address for each profile, making tracking more difficult.

Android is closed source. AOSP is open source (and pretty useless).

Genuinly curious: why is this still a thing? How difficult could it be to throw together some screen, microphone and ML algorithm that would turn the pages (or roll then up) at appropriate time?

They are not a fireable offense in my book either, but they sure as hell wouldn't pass my code review. I've had to deal with too much crap like this in the past. Self-proclaimed senior devs that micro-optimize everything and lea

Just wanted to add another reason not to use serverless, or at least AWS. For small projects I would rather experience downtime than big invoice. I had a project running on AWS, but it turns out you can't limit the budget, the best y

Then we are different. But while the advertisers are happy to oblige to your wishes, I don't have a chance that they would respect mine.

The system you suggest doesn't come near privacy. Sure, there is some uncertainty over which ad was shown, but as soon as it is clicked you have revealed that too. And it's clicks and page visits that buils visitor's profile,

The cynic in me is 100% sure they calculated the impact of these changes to their ability to track users and found the impact negligible. Still, it probably does make tracking more difficult for other advertisers, so there's that.

An easier solution would be for challenger to supply a new account id, and if claim is successful, all the funds are transferred there. This can all be done via smart contract. Brilliant idea, love it!

I think what GP commented is a very common misconception. CORS is not the source of the developer trouble (that would be cross-origin restrictions), it is a way around them. But it is perhaps understandable where the confusion comes from...

You are missing the point. There should be no need for such policies. Google should not be able / allowed to collect this data, with or without user consent.

So, under GDPR and as EU citizen, can I get Google to erase all my data if I steer clear of their services? I would really love it if I could, though I'm afraid they would rather pay fines than remove my data.
