Unfortunately, I've pulled and built the PR branches and have only seen about a 5% speed increase on a modern zen4 EPYC system. Hardly front-page worthy news. Its too bad there doesn't seem to be anyone else in this thread trying

The movie Katsuben or “Talking the Movies” is a very funny and overall entertaining dramatized love-letter to Benshi era culture https://m.imdb.com/title/tt11147106/

Maybe I've been at this for too long and can't see the pitfalls of a normal user, but how is that easier than using an oobabooga one-click installer (an option that's been around "forever")? I guess ooba one-click d

I love repurposing thin clients. There were a few gens of HP thin clients that always seemed to have their mass storage devices die, and end up on eBay for peanuts. I picked up a handful of the 64-bit CPU ones and set them up to boot diskle

For a great, under appreciated (in the west) Miyazaki series pre-Ghibli, check out “Future Boy Conan”[0]. It’s my personal favourite, and all 3 of my boys (and my wife) have watched it multiple times. It’s the source of a lot of Ghibli trop

Over the last 20 years I’ve used each revision of the PC Engines hardware for all my headless firewall and network appliance needs, both at home and professionally. I have never had a single one die, even if the occasional flash storage kic

I'm an OG OpenBSD user (literal 386 firewall) so I've been using it at home since before CARP was released. When the first CARP release hit I immediately set it up on a pair of SUN Ultra1 pizza boxes I had gotten on eBay after the

I love gping, but wish there was more of an in-depth info/manpage. The one it ships with doesn't explain much (What's t/o, for example? How are things calculated?), and the github page doesn't help much either.

As nice as that is for a quick overview, the whole story was told rather well by Gibbon in his "History of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire". If that has whet your appetite and you'd like a more in-depth telling of ju

Logging trucks have this as well in some regions. The conditions for hauling can make it a requirement to just get in and out of the bush, and save wear and tear so the roads don’t get as rutted and need less maintenance in wet seasons
