> You can more or less crank on them with as much strength as you can and they won't break or slip. This seems to be more or less a theme for knipex tools. I know I've put my full weight on a knipex combination plier before to

So one solution I've used in the past to get WFC unstuck from local maxima is to keep a counter for each tile location with how many times it has gotten stuck at that location. Whenever it gets stuck it'll reset all the tiles with

"district water system" almost definitely refers to the heating system when talking about dutch water systems. Tap water is --as far as I know-- handled on a municipal level, not a district level.

That first 20% of buffering is a lie. It'll manage to do that with no internet connection at all. Fair chance the hotel blocked netflix, or otherwise just doesn't have the bandwidth for streaming video.

Oh man this is leaving out so many shady details. Freenode was not and has never been a single entity, it's a collection of volunteer staff operating donated servers. Somehow under shady circumstances Freenode got sold to Andrew Lee.

If you think this will force politicians to keep their promises, as opposed to breaking them in broad daylight, you need to pay more attention to politics. UBI making shell games like that harder is a good thing if you ask me.

I can only imagine either the gas lever broke off, leaving him unable to stop the jet, or the jet itself had some sort of malfunction and decided to eject the pilot. Mind that these vertical takeoffs take a lot of computer control just to k

While a lot of practical jokes are, it's for sure possible to do practical jokes that I'd file under harmless fun. The tv program Just for laughs is --somewhat surprisingly-- really good at this. Excuse the awful laugh track and

What are you on about? It's trivial to get a Godot game to run on a bunch of platforms. In most cases it's just a matter of setting up the export template and hitting export.

There's still a difference between javascript and other languages with respect to dependencies. E.g. if I open a 5yr old python project there's a fair chance all the dependencies still exist and still work with a more recent pytho

At least with linux there's ways where you could fix that. I personally probably wouldn't as it's a hassle and my home folder is on a separate partition anyways, so a clean install doesn't lose me much. For those inter

Am I reading right that there's a direct interaction between magnetism and optical polarization? I know that light polarization is a pretty wacky topic to start with, but having magnets in the mix makes it seem unlikely amounts of wack

In my experience those corn bulbs aren't... amazing. Probably much better off getting a "regular" LED bulb, those get stupendously bright these days. 1000 lumen bulbs are easy enough to find, and a couple of those in a room g

Never mind that on linux you can largely just run updates in the background and not notice them happening. The only real annoyance I run into with background updates is that it'll make firefox want to restart. Still, much better than l

Flex filament is probably too flexy. The trouble with PLA is that it essentially starts forming cracks at zero force. If you keep PLA under load it's only a question of how long it takes before it breaks. E.g. making a coat hook from

Material used is rather important. PLA, which is probably the most common 3d printing material, is very prone to stress fractures. ABS on the other hand would probably do alright in this application.
