My original youtube channel was basically just funneling split up episodes of Daily show & Colbert Report directly onto it. Would get about 100,000 views a day until they started cutting down.

When I have time I will do my usual test "Realistic looking wizards bowling!" and see how it goes. So far I have had fairly disappointing results.

There was an old sci-fi trope that the reason aliens attack earth is to get at our water. The problem with that was, 1. there are better sources of water (the oort cloud) and 2. they aren't stuck in an gravity well.

While I don't necessarily think at lot of alternative ideas proposed are correct, I always love seeing alternative concepts being considered. Very cool to see ideas that could solve standing issues even if they themselves could have is

I know this is a lil more extreme and Dr Greger does have an agenda of Plant based diets but he always has a decent explanation of the possible triggers. https://nutritionfacts.org/video/why-do-plant-based-diets-he...

I have said it before, Haiku feels like it is simultaneously 20 years in the future and 20 years in the past. The interface is so incredibly snappy but there is a lot of basics missing such as WiFi support. Seeing a modern browser supported

It has been said that over priced shares is just as dangerous to a company as under priced shares. Once they correct to more realistic values, it still looks like a loss to most investors. Say Nvidia corrects from $3 trillion market cap to

I do like their clear take on the idea that the AI hype is is the long tail if Big Data hype. That it is the idea of getting machine learning/training to find the information in the data rather than explicitly spelling out what to find

This is one of those situations where government enforced limits would be the only viable long term solution. Personal choices can only go so far. The question is if governments benefit from this surveillance as well, if so they don't

There is that saying Amateurs talk strategy, Professionals talk logistics. I think it is a case of the strategy is fine (wanting immortality), but the logistics are just not there. So as much as it may pain us, focusing on not dying would m

While I get the desire of folks to live forever, IF it is possible I still think it is a VERY long way off. All I advocate for is quality of life. It feels like every time we make an advancement, we discover two new things to solve. Eventua

I was writing a book a few years ago that I have long since shelved, all about the longevity of information. The base premise was a mental experiment, what if we don't succeed in over coming some key fundamental issues of society and w

It is fascinating seeing in the retro games space just how quickly some are dying. The Gamecube/Ps2/Xbox era is starting to fall to it and I have even seen a handful of Xbox 360/Ps3 games with this issue. Many collectors now
