And that's a bad thing why? Why shouldn't there be nice, exclusive areas to live in, just like there are exclusive schools to attend and exclusive companies to work for?

Paul Graham's own writing and advice is not really followed by YC though. As an easy example, look at his recent post about naming your startup, versus the names of the companies allowed through in a recent round of seed funding. http

To me, the family analogy implies dysfunctionality, rampant gossiping and a general lack of boundaries. Team is a much better analogy. Hell, it's not even an analogy really, every company is literally a competitive team within the gam

Do you genuinely believe that the mass importation of people with radically different beliefs and customs (such as an adherence to Sharia Law) would have no effect on the native population? That cultural change wouldn't affect scientif

Exactly my point. Why are bootcamps teaching Spring, when JSF 2 is built-in and does it all better? Or at the very least should be assumed to be the future.

An understanding that natural selection is a competitive process and at least some inclination to participate in that competition.

How many agnostic / atheist people do you know that have four or more kids? Atheists don't genuinely seem to believe in natural selection, it's ironic.

You mean they are doing that via democratically elected political representation? The horror. How dare people elect politicians to represent their own interests, rather than the interests of the allegedly marginalized.

Please add a Java based web development option (ideally with JSF), I'd join in a heartbeat. The web dev is too javascript / front-end centric, and the CS (I'd assume) is too math-centric. Java / JSF / MyFaces is th
