Oh, I thought you mean "as you push it" encryption. When I was in the military, Encrypting data was not acceptable for disposal though. They make you physically destroy it, which is why I imagine they do things in this manner.

Can you explain why adding a encryption routine is faster than just blind overwriting the data with 0's? Genuinely curious as it seems that would not make sense, if you overwrote it with zeros in a comparable, logical manner.

This is a very slippery slope for FB, I feel. No real way to hide from those you want to ignore now. Next up: Let you see who is searching for you / browsed your photo albums / etc.. ??? Very "badoo-esque" I think- Not that its a bad thing,

The 1% is tied to the market value of the home, at the time of taxation. Its saying, they will never tax you more than 1% of the market value of your home. Rent control is tied to the time of original purchase. If you want to say that your

Thats a pretty good analogy. I am absolutely for helping out those in need- I just dont think it should be shelved on the landlords shoulders- It should be a responsibility of government.

As a new landlord in San Francisco, I can tell you that the biggest issue forcing this is rent control. The way rent control works is certainly designed to help those in need but instead it creates a artificial demand for affordable housing

I dont agree. 99% of this time this type of stuff stays private because the employee is fearful of repercussions and as a result, new employees never get warned about the mess they are walking into. Thats why I upvoted this- It takes balls

First off, Screw those guys. Anyone who holds back money like that is someone you dont want to work for anyways. Employees make mistakes and to punish them for it is insane. If you were purposely trying to screw things up and were fired for

Maybe there could be a few options? Download all mail, download by month, download by year? Seems like they could solve that problem pretty easily and would be very awesome.

Its ease of use and ease of storage. Setting up a mail client and getting it to download everything isnt a 1 click operation. However, clicking "download backup now" is a very easy 1 click operation, and I can just store that zip file where

Great tool, awesome work. Gmail should really offer a link to backup your mail though. I know you can do it with mail clients and this, but its annoying I cant just download one big zip file from gmail itself.

My understanding of cloud flare is that they null route you if any major attack comes in- Seems a little bit unfair they didnt do this for lulzsec just to get the press. If you are some boring website that gets the same attack lulzsec does,

AWS should have shaved down the cost of the dedicated unit as well, if we are in cost cutting mode. Those prices would look very different if they just used some plain jane boxes from 100tb.com or leaseweb. In order for AWS to make sense, y

Agreed. If you use the extra features of amazon, like you mentioned then it can be worth the cost. I was strictly speaking on a financial basis. Hourly billing only pays off if you use it to constantly scale. If you are running your servers

I forgot this point. Its absolutely correct, you cannot beat the price point for VPS if your stuff can run on a 20$ plan. However, once you get over that hump.. say 100$/month it becomes obvious that dedicated pays off in spades.

Ive said this a few times earlier on. The main benefit to Cloud hosting is hourly billing. Unless you are utilizing this feature extensively you will almost always be better off in a dedicated/colo enviorment. You will get more power/bandwi
