It's not uncommon in my field. And quite a few of the people billing that rate or higher actually net greater than $2m, because they get credit not only for what they bill but what work they bring in for others to bill. That said, $1k&

I just use Goodsync personally. I used to have it sync to a WebDAV server in my house, but these days I just use a cloud provider.

This is where I’ve come to over the years as well. Generally defaults are best unless it’s something you really care about and that makes a big difference to your workflow. Most configuration stuff doesn’t fit that category - or if it does,

Seems like they could just lock all of the new features behind a “use x.x” line rather than going feature-by-feature. And they could include “use latest” or similar for people who don’t care about the risk and are fine just fixing things if

I would say it is downright misleading. It implies photos taken without permission that could be an invasion of privacy, when the article is clear that this is a separate service offered to customers who want photos taken of their site or p

I agree with the sentiment, but "stock photos" are not a problem. They add visual interest and allow the reader to quickly see what the article is about. Having a good stock photo with a blog post drastically increases the number

This really is the best. It’s hard to describe why, but for me it’s some combination of freedom (from work and some childcare), nostalgia (from reliving old times), catching up, and just general family time.

We both work. For me, 0->1 was a big change, and 1->2 and up each felt like smaller changes. But I expect it’s different for everyone!

4 kids here. The first is a bit of a shock. I think it’s mostly because people rightly fear the unknown, but then react by buying way too much stuff. But really there is no need for it to “collapse” a household due to the need to manage obj

It’s funny how people act as if commute time is completely outside of the control of individuals. Maybe that’s true in some places, but in the majority of places people can choose how long they want their commute to be. It’s usually a trade

It's true though. I'm a professional with many years of experience in a tough field. People who "do their own research" are terrifying. If my field were lumberjacking, this is how the conversations would go: "I want

I ran a Debian web / webdav server for 12+ years on a 2007 Asus netbook. It worked flawlessly the whole time. I only gave it up because I wanted something faster than the 100mbps ethernet and I had other computers lying around. Shortly

It comes down to perspective and how you value your money and your time. For some consumers, for example, a 2x difference in price is a huge deal, and the time spent figuring out the best product at the best price is very well worth it. For
