I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but multiple sources are agreeing on the fact that Trump’s team had a role to play in this. But I guess this upsets the “vote blue no matter who” crowd.

China gained even more from this genocidal spree & exercise in ignoring international law. BRICS got a new lease on life. And NDB is shaping up to be a legitimate competitor to the IMF.

Isis was never a legitimate independence movement. It was an expansionist terrorist group built on - quite literally - terror and anarchy. It worked for a while because the conditions were suitable in Syria and Iraq. A true anti-colonial, i

Very cool! I actually considered implementing the Compose Build spec this way for compose2nix, but instead opted to just use Docker/Podman directly.

1. Unbelievable layer reuse out of the box. Each Nix build output is placed in its own layer, including your binary (up to a max of 120 or so layers). Rebuilding the image will only result in the final layer changing, which minimizes work o

I generally agree. Nix is an excellent build tool. I use it for all of my projects now. And when building is tricky, e.g. Elixir, I rely on Nix devshells to get my tools setup. NixOS is an amazing server distro. My primary home server VM

If you’re using flakes, this is minimized, as long as you don’t cleanup (GC) your Nix store and don’t update your lock file.

Nix handles containerization better than Docker does. Here is a flake that builds a Go app and a Docker image for it (based on headless Chrome): https://github.com/aksiksi/ncdmv/blob/aa108a1c1e2c14a13dfbc0...
