I haven't been to Walmart in quite a while but their UX used to be horrible. They had buttons with white lettering and the button background used to cycle between light blue and white. Half the time you couldn't read what the bu

I can't believe it's been 32 years since the Challenger disaster happened. I was in aeronautics class in high school when I heard the news. The happy thought for the day is that her lessons will finally get taught.

This is a very long read but I think the telling part is the comments. Most people seemed to think that 5 months of research for a 10% difference is too much and I think I agree. Now, part of that time had to be spent anyway as part of th

I guess I'm confused as to how the support of one compiled language differs from any other compiled language; couldn't you just replace "Go" with "Rust" at this point? I understand how Lambda would have to sup

Yes, the new MBP keyboard has the same arrow key layout as the new Apple wireless keyboard, and I despise it. My fingers are constantly trying, and failing, to find the proper arrow key to press and I end up having to look at the keyboard.

I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or maybe the problem has been fixed in the latest beta, but I can't replicate the problem on 10.13.3 Beta (17D34a). I lock the App Store preference pane and can't unlock it with anythi

I actually have a physical DogeCoin somewhere. A marketing firm had some made up (they look like casino chips) for fun and gave me one. Now, I just have to find a machine to put it in.

So, if I weren't sure that cryptocurrency was in a bubble before, I think it's safe to say that when DogeCoin pops a $2B market cap something big is happening. And that big thing is probably not good.

That is the special, black keyboard that comes with the iMac Pro machines. The only way to get one is to order an iMac Pro, at least for now.

I don't know whether to be impressed or freaked out by the capture of so much biometric data. On the one hand it would be convenient to not have to carry these little cards with me all the time to prove who I am and how I would like t

I think this type of thing would be very good at working around the recently struck down FCC NetNeutrality policy. Imagine plugging little self contained boxes into power outlets all around the city, building a mesh network organically, pi

I'm trying to view the recent FCC Net Neutrality reversal in a positive light; will it finally force us to abandon traditional ISPs? Building a mesh seems like the proper solution to ISPs that won't treat our packets with respect

I love the Dashboard and even updated an app that displays weather radar for my city. The idea of the Dashboard being an iOS app workspace makes perfect sense and I can't see how I missed the connection before.

I agree, to some extent, but I'm not sure if wireless will ever be able to give me gigabit speed with sub 10ms latency. If that's possible, then I'm ready to sign up right now!
