I actually think Wave was a bit before it's time and couldn't really find a place to settle. It kind of reminds me of the laser. At first, it was a fun playtoy but no one had any real uses for it. Over time, it became more and

You know, when I started working with computers (many moons ago) and found out about the 2038 problem, I didn't worry about it. After all, that will never affect me, right? Well, it's 2022 and 2038 doesn't look that far away

Whelp, I guess you're not using Cognito then. It has no user account syncing feature so you can't have a user group in more than one region. Grrrrr!

Yes, I can envision a (simplified) AWS X-Ray dashboard showing the relationships between the systems and the performance of each one. Then we could see at a glance what was going on. Almost anything is better than that wall of text, tiny

Yeah, I personally know people who were mugged at gunpoint and the police did nothing. The assailant is on social media and the victims provided the police with their account names. Nothing was done.

I have a similar story. A company I worked for in the 90's had a voice mail system that ran out of storage space for messages. When we upgraded our contract a technician came on-site to expand our storage. I was curious how it worke

It actually might be more informative. If a candidate, that had never heard the term "ACID", was able to Google it and talk intelligently about it I would be most impressed and it would probably earn them a next step. In fact, t

While I do think that some companies (ie. FAANG) might be too big and we should do something to combat that, I'm not sure that government regulation is the correct way. I think I would like to see the government help smaller companies

I never really thought about it but this makes complete sense. Why charge people to get invested in your platform? I guess it stems from the fact that back in the olden days these certifications were for things like A+ or some other non v

I think this is an interesting "hack" on the rules. The law says you have to have side mirrors; it doesn't say that you can't make those mirrors easy to remove|replace. I'm guessing there will be a camera "sid

There was a "meeting" startup on HN last year (several years ago?) that had such a product. Each "room" had multiple tables, which you were free to move between. You could sorta hear people at the other tables; the clo

What about dropping a boat into a lake? You have to partially submerge the back end of the truck in order to off-load a boat on a ramp. Can the Rivian (or any BEV) do this?
