The best practical reason to choose this is its interactive features, like regexp building.

I read this on mobile and it felt pretty tedious. I wonder if maybe some minimal HTML could make the paragraphs reflow properly while still looking like a manpage everywhere.

All respect to Michael Larabel's reporting itself, but opening a Phoronix article and seeing a dozen ad embeds which constitute most of the page weight is a frequent reminder to me that I live in heck.

Languages that transpile to C code like it because, if the C is generated by another compiler, then the C language's expressiveness doesn't really matter, and TCC builds machine code pretty fast.

I would note that Tiny C Compiler is used a fair amount in the wild today, even beyond its stated use cases on the landing page, and C89 is the only standard that it fully supports.

OpenBSD doesn't even have hyperthreading? Why does anyone use this OS? The Linux developers put in a lot of effort to make hyperthreading actually work for their kernel rather than ignoring it.

Unless the search/replace is super simple, you need the YAML as far as I can tell. The refactor I gave up on automating had to do with changing variadic C++ macros into arithmetic expressions, which wasn't conceptually very compli

I've tried using this, but the documentation and learning resources weren't very good (at least at the time ~6 months ago) and structuring refactors with YAML made it very cumbersome for me to write and edit one-off commands. Tree

When you have wrappers over these that produce optional types, and use statement expression macros or monadic member functions to handle the control flow, I think it's not too hard.

Even without the syscall dispatch, it's a very well optimized standard C library that you can statically link. Although personally, the lack of dynamic linking or GPU acceleration makes it a hard sell for my projects, unfortunately.
