What makes you ask? I don't know why @incision asked, so I can't speak for him or her. However, I know why I would ask you the same question: I would be curious whether you were simply speaking out of profound ignorance and entitlement or

You left out the most important step: make sure kids understand the reason for those rules (other than "because I say so"). Speaking from my experience with my parents, yours is a great recipe for having your kids think you're an asshole wh

I have dealt with it by installing a solid door at the end of the hallway. Read the comments on SuperUser. He's a single dad. Being unable to hear what your 4 year old kids are up to is a bad idea when there's no one else to monitor them.

Because the "truthful" method doesn't get the desired results. I'm a father (and I also remember something about being a kid) and I can tell you that 4 year old kids are unbelievably egocentric. A lot of the rules adults try to impose that

I encourage you to post that in the comments on the blog itself. There are already comments saying "thank you for this" and "placebos should be regulated" and whatnot. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I believe it would be useful to have yo

The author is conflating two different meanings of the word "failure": the act (as in not succeeding at something) and the label (as in being labeled a failure). The whole post is based on this fallacious logic. The concept of "embracing fa

Nice list. I only wish the author warned the readers that using the "get" method to get an item from the dictionary is not 100% equivalent to using try/except. When using the method, the default value argument will always be evaluated, rega

I assume that "rubbish" or "bullshit" refer to what the other person said, so when you expand that paraphrase it turns out like this: "What you said is rubbish. I don't agree with you and here is a list of reasons why." Now, can you tell me

Bullshit, sorry. I can't help feeling that this kind of attitude is what caused Heather to feel bad in the first place. I agree with your points, but the way you present them leaves a lot (of politeness) to desire.

There's been plenty of input from the people. The people vote every 2 years for representatives and every 6 years for senators. By and large, the people's input has been to keep the congresspeople who voted for these extensions. I'll neve
