I dont see why they couldnt made their own derivations instead of relying on nixpkgs hashes.

Sure there's tradeoffs for everything, but if I had to choose between macros, templates, or zig's comptime, I'd take the comptime any time.

To be honest your snippet isn't really C anymore by using a compiler builtin. I'm also annoyed by things like `foo(int N, const char x[N])` which compilation vary wildly between compilers (most ignore them, gcc will actually try t

Not sure about professional quality. All the results seem to need quite bit of hand editing to look good. Also the examples only show animations ripped from street fighter.

LLM fanatics throw me nuts, instead of learned helplessness, at least try to understand what the token predictor outputs and be honest when you used LLM to generate your code dump when asking for help. Otherwise you are just wasting time an

It only works with nixos, it replaces the system ld that normally says "nix cant run dynamic binaries blah blah". Not sure if you can run it as cli tool.

Isn't this more like coroutines / green threads? I guess it doesn't matter as they are essentially same concept apart from cooperative scheduling vs. preemptive scheduling.

Kaze Emanuar's "Optimizing with Bad Code" video also goes briefly go through self-modifying code https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LiP39gJuqE

libc carries lots of global state and implicit ABI that complicates software stacks. While I don't like dynamic libraries in general, dynamic libraries wouldn't be such a mess as they are if libc did not exist. I dream of day we c

libc's been poisoning software long enough. Glad it's optional in Zig on platforms that provide stable system ABI.

While flakes have their own "checks" thing, what I do is just have a app definition in flake with the required dependencies. https://github.com/Cloudef/zig-aio/blob/master/flake.nix#L25... htt

You would have to give up on global error set with sum types, unless you want to see the global error set bloat with the largest sum type. Also if the error payload needs allocating what are you gonna do? Allocating is no no no here. I know

The std has diagnostics struct you can give to the json parser. Zig is manually memory managed language so it doesnt have payloads in errors for a good reason.

That sounds familiar, I used < https://github.com/Cloudef/android2gnulinux > to reverse one libjiagu program in past. The deobfuscated code eventually ends up in the ram, and you can then extract it.

It's kinda sad how much "linux desktop" relies on GTK. I have my beef with dbus as well, but I wonder if you could do the indicator icons by only using the dbus protocol.
