One obvious advantage would be the length of time you can stay in the country. For Korea obviously the advantages are the same as tourism.

Also it means that at some point, Apple would have to actively block some legacy devices from using iCloud, app store, apple music, any app with subscrpitions etc which would effectively make the device pretty useless.

Are we confident that the Kagi thing doesn't just summarise the subtitles from youtube? This seems to actually write the subs.

Loads of people fly from London/Birmingham to Edinburgh/Glasgow and visa-versa (it's often cheaper and faster than the train). Then obviously NI as you mentioned.

The FSL licence is interesting - certainly something I will consider for my current project! The only problem is I don't think the 2 year term is sufficient to stop free-riding, and that probably requires adjustment on a per-project ba

This is right in percentage terms - but also worth noting that the UK produces 4.7 tonnes of co2 per capita vs USA's 14.4 metric tons per capita. i.e. taking your 8% and 3% figures along with the tonnes of co2 above would mean in raw C

One of my least favourite quotes! Reality has no political opinion and there is no ground-truth about if left or right is 'real'. I'm left-leaning, but hate the quote just because it dismisses conservatism (which is a legitim

Totally agree - you don't put an andon cord on your production line or 'do six sigma' and suddenly get perfect car quality - it's a slow and incremental process.

They aren't pulling the andon cord because the panel gap's are within tolerance but could be improved. Parent post is talking about general fit and finish (i.e. tolerances being wide), try being a production line operative and pul

I guarantee they wouldn’t shut down the line while they wait for a fix for within-tolerance panel gap improvements - they would work on designing a fix that would be implementable on the line while continuing manufacture. Designing, Testing

Tesla produced the same number of cars in 2022 as they did in all years combined from 2012-2020. If you think it's easy to just stand up that level of production capacity, and that they are actually they are just ignoring simple produc

But what's the broader point here, is it that the word "Autopilot" implies you need care or training? Because if so, it sounds like Autopilot would be a good word. I think the term "Full Self Driving" is misleading,
