This take keeps coming up and I do not get it. Kotlin has ergonomics that Java cannot match without breaking changes that are anathema to the JCP, and Java has no answer at all for multiplatform. I have lots of respect for Java but I still

Doesn't ring as true as you appear to be "weeping" for simplicity here. Others must be, as well, as this plea is an appeal to the Linux project's decision to simplify by deprecating Itanium support.

Native speakers are of course also very likely to pluralize nouns in the regular way when they don't know the irregular form. Usually, only very common nouns can sustain irregular pluralization. Perhaps dice carries on at all because i

It's only an orthographic convention. English and all other languages can make compound nouns of arbitrary length, and the parts can but don't have to be nouns. In fact, there don't have to be any nouns in a compound noun! E.

This is a really odd take on the function of humor. Characterizing all jokes in this way is a mistake. Creating original jokes is very deliberate and requires lateral thinking, familiarity with the topic, and awareness of your audience. It&

A person who has all the same values as yourself and navigates them in the same ways you do is a figurative unicorn. And anyway, one of my values is affording grace for people who I see as flawed in some way. I'm certainly quite flawed

You've raised a question and assumed what the answer is. Has society been affected by accessible porn? If so, to what degree? Of the ways it was affected, which were positive and which were negative? On the whole, is it harmful? They&#

My impression is that a fiber installation will have legs and take you a few decades. Of course, we've been wrong many times before. But in any case, fiber remains impractical, expensive, and power-hungry.

Fox News goes well beyond having a lean, so far that they find themselves in legal hot water. And that's only when the pontificating on nonsense is so egregious that it's legally actionable...
